Pixel 10 5G Not Working? Slow Speeds, Missing 5G+ & Call Fixes
Your Pixel 10 shows 5G in the status bar, but speeds are stuck in LTE territory. Or the 5G+ badge never shows up. Or calls drop after an update. Before you blame the phone, check which Pixel 10 you actually own. Google ships different radio hardware in different markets, and no software tweak can add bands that aren't in the silicon.
Why Your Pixel 10 Shows 5G Without the Speeds You Expected
The most common complaint is simple. Someone buys a Pixel 10 and expects mmWave or C-Band speeds. They get slower mid-band or LTE performance instead. The cause is usually a mismatch between the model, the carrier and the plan.
Per Google's US spec page, the US model (GLBW0) supports Sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G, including mmWave bands n258, n260 and n261. The India spec page lists the India and international model (GK2MP) as Sub-6 GHz only. It supports n77 and n78 but has no mmWave hardware.
Typical symptoms include:
- No 5G+ or mmWave indicator on a US carrier, even in a dense urban area.
- 5G works on one carrier's SIM but drops to LTE on another.
- An imported Pixel 10 never connects to mmWave.
- Cellular calls fail after a system update.
Likely Causes & Community-Reported Triggers
Some of these causes are documented by Google and carriers. Others come from user reports that Google has not acknowledged. We label each one.
Documented hardware and carrier limits
Google states on its Pixel 5G help page that 5G is carrier-dependent and not supported by all carriers or in all countries. Its compatibility and roaming guidance adds that 5G depends on local network support, provisioning and regional availability.
On the carrier side, AT&T's device page lists the Pixel 10 with n77 C-Band, n77 3.45 GHz and n260 mmWave for 5G+. FirstNet confirms compatibility with AT&T 5G Sub-6, C-Band and mmWave, plus FirstNet LTE.
Community-reported trigger: regional software blocks
A Reddit thread in r/GooglePixel describes country-level 5G and VoLTE blocks on Pixels used in unsupported countries, even though the hardware bands are present. This is community-reported. Google has not published a matching statement in the sources we verified.
Community-reported trigger: post-update call failures
Community and support channels contain reports of cellular calls failing or losing stability on Pixel 10 phones after post-October Android updates. The reports do not give a verified build number we can cite, and Google has not documented a root cause. Treat this as a community-observed trigger.
6 Fixes to Try, in Order
Work through these in order. They go from harmless checks to heavier resets.
- Confirm your exact model. Head into Settings > About phone and check the model and regulatory labels. A US unit should be GLBW0. An India or international unit is GK2MP. If you have a GK2MP, mmWave will never work, no matter the carrier.
- Check the 5G setting on your SIM. Open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs, tap your SIM, and check that Preferred network type is set to 5G. Do this for each SIM or eSIM.
- Restart and cycle Airplane mode. Restart the phone, then toggle Airplane mode from the Quick Settings panel. This forces a fresh network registration.
- Install pending updates. Go to Settings > System > Software updates. If calls broke after the October update, a later patch may address it. Only community reports document the issue, so there is no official changelog to confirm a fix.
- Reset mobile network settings. Open Settings > System > Reset options and choose Reset Mobile Network Settings.
- Boot into Safe mode. Press and hold the power button, then touch and hold Power off, and tap OK. If calls and 5G behave normally, a third-party app is interfering. Remove recently installed apps one at a time.
Warning: In the Reset options menu, choose the mobile-network-only reset. Avoid any combined reset that also covers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, or you may lose saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth pairings.
Tip: Still no 5G+ or C-Band after the steps above? Call your carrier and ask them to verify account provisioning and IMEI approval for the Pixel 10. Google says provisioning affects 5G availability, and only the carrier can fix that.
If you imported your Pixel 10
Importing across markets does not unlock unsupported bands. A GK2MP will never gain mmWave through a settings change. If a regional policy blocks 5G or VoLTE in your country, as the community reports describe, the only fix is a carrier or market that supports the phone.
Affected Models & Firmware Status Matrix
| Affected Model(s) | OS / Firmware Version | Severity | Workaround Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| US Pixel 10 (GLBW0) | Any; carrier provisioning dependent | Low | Verify plan and SIM 5G settings |
| India/international Pixel 10 (GK2MP) | Any; hardware limit | Hardware limit | No mmWave possible; n77/n78 only |
| Pixel 10 on AT&T or FirstNet | Any; carrier-listed support | Low | Supported; contact carrier if missing |
| Pixel 10 with call failures | Post-October Android update (community-reported) | High | Unconfirmed; try a network reset and a carrier provisioning check |
| Pixel 10 in unsupported countries | Region-dependent (community-reported) | Medium | No verified workaround |

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Pixel 10 support mmWave?
The US model (GLBW0) does, with bands n258, n260 and n261. The India and international model (GK2MP) is Sub-6 only and has no mmWave hardware.
Does the Pixel 10 support C-Band on AT&T?
Yes. AT&T lists n77 C-Band and n77 3.45 GHz for the Pixel 10. It also lists n260 mmWave for 5G+. FirstNet confirms the same 5G compatibility.
Can I enable mmWave on an imported Pixel 10?
No. If your phone is the GK2MP, the radio hardware has no mmWave support. Software changes cannot add it.
My calls fail after the October update. What should I do?
Install any pending update, then reset mobile network settings under Settings > System > Reset options. Ask your carrier to verify provisioning. The issue is community-reported and not confirmed by Google.
